You can use a General Science degree toqualify for a job with the U.S. Government. I used my BA in General Science to get a job as a: Statistician with the Census Bureau and as a Federal Officer with the USDA. It all depends on which courses you take. I took calculus and statistics along with Biology to qualify for these positions.
