There are many options now. You could go with your LPN (Liscensed Practical Nurse) degree first. That gets your foot in the door. Or , you can start with a full 4 year RN program. I got my LPN at a community college, which took me about 1 1/2 years. Now I'm almost finished with my RN, which I take online through a great college called Excelsior. I would recomend that rout to anyone who is strongly self motivated, and needs to be able to work to get through school.
