The earliest known record of a Christmas Tree originates from 16th century Germany although they were considered too pagan by some clergymen and were disregarded. But for those who did sport the holiday tree they usually placed apples, nuts, pretzles, and paper flowers. These trees usually were only placed in halls and public areas, they didn't really start entering people's homes until the 17th century. The tradition of the Chistmas tree as we know it actually didn't come into play until the riegn of Queen Victoria in England when her husband, Prince Albert, brought the Germanic tradtion of the tree to England for the Christmas celebrations. A picture was released througout England with the Royal Family gathering around the tree, and the tradtion was born in England.
