You can't really revise for an ISA. The ISAs are a practical followed by a skill based exam. The first half of the exam is based upon your practical. For this you need to be clear what the purpose of your investigation was, which variable was which and how it was a fair test. You will also be asked what certain pieces of equipment do and how you could improve the investigation.

You get 6 (if memory serves correct) marks for doing your table and graph correctly.

NB:

The dependent variable is the one being MEASURED. These are your results and will be on the right of your table and make up the y axis of your graph. Remember the DEPENDENT variable is DEPENDENT upon the independent variable.

The independent variable is on the x axis and down the left hand side of your table. This is the thing you CHANGE.

You made it a fair test by only changing the independent variable and keeping everything else the same.

LABEL THE AXIS of the graph! Remember to include units in brackets.

DO NOT put the units in the body of your table. Units go in brackets in the title bar of a table.

PLOT the graph properly.

The second half of the paper will be about an investigation tenuously linked to yours. You will face most of the same questions again.

NB:

At least one of the questions will be about the importance of repeating experiments (making results more reliable).

At least one question will be about bias.

You MUST read the introductory texts and be sure you know what the experiments are about.

They basically ask you about what you have done in you experiment (section1) and to analyse the results of another experiment (which is generally similar) with a given results table (section 2) You ned to remember all you key defenitions and be very specific in you answers to obtain maximum marks.
