A 2.5 GPA in college means you will have an awfully difficult time finding a decent job. Head hunters and employers often look at your GPA as a sign of one's work ethic. It is recommended that, to be in good standing, you receive at least a 3.0 GPA (Which tends to be the average).

However, getting a bad grade in a class is often NOT the end of the road to having a successful GPA. Many colleges offer programs such as "Last Chance" grading. This allows you to take a class over again and replace it with the new grade. (For example, I once got an F in college algebra, but after taking it again I obtained a B and the school replaced my failing grade with my new grade thus putting me in better standings with my GPA)

I hope this helped
