ok as the question was asked about spanish translations not mexican or any other off shoot I think you will find that it is ACTUALLY a purse. Although portamonedas means purse as well. It is not widley used due to people liking to contract words the the monedero is the more accepted form. It can also mean Pocketbook, but again not the accepted form.
