The original question is in Spanish and means "What was the date yesterday?" For me, here and now it's Tuesday Sep 18th (1.15am at my end already) so yesterday was Monday September 17th
Translation: What day was the day before yesterday? (i.e. if today is Wednesday, the answer would be Monday)
"¿Qué día es ayer fue?" is a grammatically incorrect sentence in Spanish. "¿Qué día es hoy?" means "What day is it today?" and "Ayer fue..." means "Yesterday was...".
Fue aquí algún dia, por lo que era.
