The phrase "Has all but disappeared" means that there is virtually nothing of the thing in question left.

For example someone might say "that cake has all but disappeared" meaning that very nearly all the cake has been eaten or taken leaving very nearly nothing or just a very small piece.

Or "the Black Rhino has all but disappeared" meaning that it has very nearly become extinct with perhaps just a few left alive.
