To be an ENT doctor, also known as an otolaryngologist, a medical degree from an accredited medical school such as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree, Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, or a Bachelor of Surgery/Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS/MBChB) degree is required. After earning a medical degree, residency training in otolaryngology must be completed and board certification examinations must be successfully passed to become a board certified otolaryngologist.
