You must be able to get a 3.8. It is very hard to get into dental school, so you should probably be in the top 2% of your class. I highly recommend a 4.0 though.
This changes year to year. Right now its a popular career choice, so a lot of competition leads to higher grade point averages. I don't think a 3.8 to 4.0 is needed to get into most schools. More likely a 3.4 to 3.5 would do for most schools assuming you have good scores on DAT and some sort of college extracurricular activities, especially research. If your Bach. degree GPA. is too low, consider going on for a masters and reapply then. This usually takes two years full time, but two years compared to the rest of your life is insignificant. Your chances are much higher with a proven track record of advanced study behind you. Don't assume you can't get in because your GPA is too low. Most dental schools also weigh the difficulty of the degree with concern to the GPA. For instance a degree in biochemistry can have a lower GPA than a degree in education (assuming the ed degree has taken the prereq. courses).

As being a poet is not a formal employment, no education is required, just as being an author or singer or musician does not require a full education. I believe some poets, etc., get a degree relating to their career choice, but you could be a high school dropout or not entirely through school and still be a poet.
There are no educational requirements for being a business owner. However, one of the major reasons why businesses fail is a lack of business education.
