2. For students of Ist year from 06 batch onwards (& for readmitted / ex-students following syllabus of 06 onwards), the rule is as follows:

At the end of each year, if a student has more than 4 backs, (total - laterally & vertically) he will not be promoted to next year & he can get readmitted to present year or be an ex - student of present year (NPTY or not promoted to next year).

Promotion to next year (II, III & IV year - B Tech)

3. Other than the situation in para 2 above, a student can be promoted to next year only if his condition in present year (both sem put together) is PCP, PCP-A or Pass. However, his promotion can not be stopped if his current result is not fail. Hence, in cases where result is pending for a full year, the student will be provisionally allowed to go to next year. However, the student will give an under taking in a format that is available with concerned HOD.
