The country with the highest literacy rate is Georgia with 100%. That is an estimate. Other sources cite Canada (99%) and Cuba, Estonia and Poland at 99.8% I believe they're all estimates, though. Armenia has the highest literacy rate. The ratio is higher when its population is compared to the rest of the world. How can it be higher than 100%? (Not that I believe the 100% either) Any credible sources or sites for these numbers? It's been a long time since I've looked into it.
As of 2016, the Literacy Hour as a distinct daily teaching block had largely been phased out in UK schools. It was originally introduced in 1998 as part of the National Literacy Strategy but was replaced by more flexible approaches to teaching literacy that focus on integrating reading and writing across the curriculum. Schools now use a variety of methods to teach literacy, adapting to the needs of their students.
