For schools that operate on a four point scale the grade point average is calculated from the following:

* 4.0 = A * 3.0 = B * 2.0 = C * 1.0 = D (minimum pass/not transferable to another institution) * 0.0 = F (failure) Some schools use a minus system while others a plus system. For example: a grade of B+ can be a 3.5 for instance, thus C+, D+, or A-, B-, C-.
