a primary source is a source that was made when ithappened. so if you were looking up about the age of discovery of instance, a primary source might be a letter of a crew ship log or something along those lines but it was to of came from that time period. a secondary source is about the event but from a different time period e.g. a news paper article


in nutrition it would be a primary source of vitamins comes from the food you eat, the secondary source would be from vitamin supplements.

It pretty much means, the main source from where you get something, or the first source that something came from.
