Impromptu Speaking is exactly what it sounds like: delivering a speech in an impromptu manner ;)
Typically, a person is given a topic that could be about anything (a quote, proper name, proverb, news event, movie title, etc.), are allowed a certain amount of time to prep (2-3 minutes is standard to write a quick outline on a note card), and then they immediately deliver a speech with only the note card as reference. It's the art of thinking fast on your feet perfected.

Manuscript is when you read from a teleprompter. Impromptu is when you give a speech without a paper or memorizing it beforehand.
Some different types of speaking include informative speaking, persuasive speaking, impromptu speaking, and ceremonial speaking. Informative speaking aims to educate or instruct the audience about a specific topic. Persuasive speaking seeks to influence the audience's beliefs or actions. Impromptu speaking involves delivering a speech without prior preparation, often in a spontaneous setting. Ceremonial speaking is used in formal events to commemorate a special occasion or honor someone.
The extemporaneous style of speaking lies midway between reading a prepared text and impromptu delivery.
The four methods of delivery in public speaking are memorization, manuscript, extemporaneous, and impromptu. Memorization involves learning the speech word-for-word, while manuscript delivery relies on reading from a written text. Extemporaneous speaking combines preparation with spontaneity, allowing for a more natural flow, and impromptu speaking requires delivering a speech without prior notice or preparation. Each method has its own advantages and is suited to different speaking contexts.
Impromptu is an adjective.
Fantaisie Impromptu
Chopin Impromptu #4 (Fantasie Impromptu) is by far the hardest one. That song is related to Beethoven Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement. Other than Fantasie Impromptu, the most difficult is Chopin Impromptu #3. #1 is the easiest. Impromptu #2 is more beautiful than #1/#3. Fantasie Impromptu is also by far the most beautiful one. Impromptu #3 is slightly more beautiful than Impromptu #1. No offense to Impromptu #1.
Prepared; ready. Impromptu means something unprepared for.
Four methods of speaking include public speaking, conversational speaking, persuasive speaking, and informational speaking. Each method serves a specific purpose and requires different skills and approaches to effectively convey a message to an audience.
Impromptu speaking involves delivering a speech without prior preparation, while extemporaneous speaking allows some preparation time (usually 30 minutes) before giving a speech. Impromptu speeches rely more on the speaker's ability to think quickly and react in the moment, while extemporaneous speeches allow for a more structured and thought-out response.
Impromptu acting is acting at the spur of the moment.
An impromptu, in music, is a piece that was unplanned for (usually suddenly inspired by something). Impromptu in general means "unplanned for."
