Top rose is a literal English equivalent of 'Cimarosa'. The feminine noun 'cima' means 'top, summit'. The feminine noun 'rosa' means '[the flower] rose'. It's pronounced 'chee-mah-ROH-sah'.

It's the last name of a famous Italian composer. His complete name is Domenico Cimarosa [December 17, 1749-January 11, 1801]. His parents were hard working but poor. They nevertheless managed to get their son a free education through the local monastery. From there, Cimarosa was able to get the training and make the connections that he needed for his future career as the composer of over 80 operas. He was a workaholic, and composed up to the point of his death. For that reason, his last Opera, 'Artemizia', was started but left unfinished.
