Short answer: about 24

Longer answer: With the exception of large state schools, most colleges take a holistic view of applications, meaning there is no definite line with admission on one side and rejection on the other. In other words, there is no "requirement" They factor in what classes you took in high school, how academically challenging your high school is known to be, what grades you received, your essay, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, as well as life experiences (if your grades, test scores, etc. go down due to some life trauma, they take this into account). Most students admitted to SMU have ACT scores of 24 or higher, but some with lower scores were accepted and some with scores of 24 and higher were rejected.
