Around a 1600 is what people get with minimal preparation. Those who put some effort into it get in the 1800 range, while those who go all-out will likely score in the 2000 mark up to 2400 being the highest.
Recently the SAT has been changed to not penalize wrong answers, so guess on everything you dont know!

The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) follows the same prep course as the SAT. There are several published books as well as an official guide offered by the SSAT Board. There are also online test review sites.
An average score is between 640-679.
The average score on an IQ test is about 100. If you score higher than that, your score will be above average.
