Universitys offer better degree programs in many areas, say if you want to be a doctor , environmental sceintiist etc.. However community colleges offer better one on one training and tend to prepare you for a carrer after graduating from the college. Universities have very large classes(300+) and community colleges have like 20-to60 max. So to answer your question they are not better than one another it just depends on your preferred learning style.

Short Answer: yes. Long Answer: There is many other factors to take into consideration. From a financial standpoint, it will be far cheaper to attend the community college than go to a university. Furthermore, a university will have more international students than your local community college, so the depth of your experience will be greater. The best experiences are those that you have outside the classroom, like getting involved with the local students union You need to be careful, not every degree is "equal" in the academic world. For example, an associate bachelor degree is considered inferior to a bachelors degree.

Community Colleges give anyone the chance to try anything that they think they want to make their major. If the person succeeds, good for them. If they don't - no skin off the Community College's nose. I speak from experience. I wanted a degree in music, and no university would look twice at me, simply because I'd "never had piano". The C.C. welcomed me. My grades at C.C. got me into a major university easily - I graduated with a degree in music, "with honors". I could have never done it without Community College.

A community college does not offer a four-year degree. They offer certifications and Associate's degrees. The others do.
