What I can say is that Lamar University has the appropriate regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the College Board. Therefore, the coursework and degree you complete through this institution will be recognized by all other colleges and universities as well as employers. I have no information however on the schools ranking. It does not appear to be too competitive seeing that 88% of the applicants are accepted. This does not mean it is a non rigorous institution, just not that competitive to get in.
