To be a volunteer veterinarian you don't necessarily need to high of skills, after all, you aren't being paid. If you would like to be a veterinarian as a job, it would take about 7 years of college, and a highschool diploma.
To apply to vet school in the United States, you need to take either the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) or the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test).
You will need to go to college for 3-4 years, and then transfer to vet school which will take another 3-5 years.
