Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is made by the anterior part of the pituitary gland in the brain. In males, it tells the testes to produce testosterone. In females, it triggers ovulation, the production of the raw materials needed to make estrogen, and the subsequent release of progesterone. This hormone works alongside FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone).
