To make an UTAU you first need to download the UTAU program which you can do here:http://utau2008.xrea.jp/index.HTMLClick on 'v0.2.76 インストーラ'This should start the download. It helps to have the English Patch which can be downloaded here:http://www.mediafire.com/?mttooatmn5yGo to your computer disk C, program files, UTAU then extract it to a folder in your UTAU folder called "Res". If there is no "res" folder, create one.Now onto making the actual UTAU. You need to get a voice recording program like Audacity which you can download here:http://audacity.sourceforge.net/Now go into the UTAU folder again and go into the folder labeled Voice. Make a new folder and name it after whatever you wish to name your UTAU.Then you need to find a list of Japanese characters like so:http://www.tata-tatao.to/knit/Japanese/50-on.gifNow record yourself saying each of the characters individually and save them as WAV. Save them in your UTAU's folder you just made. When you finish your UTAU's voice bank you can finally make it sing!! :DYou can download UST's to make your UTAU sing here:http://vocalochu.blogspot.com/2009/12/vsq-list.HTMLYou can make your UTAU sing by double clicking the UST file you downloaded. Then change the default UTAU to your UTAU.If the UST isn't already done for you in English letters then look up the lyrics to the song and write the characters of the song into the boxes. Now save it as a WAV and go into windows movie maker to add the kareoke. Now your all set!! ^u^Have fun with your new UTAU~TIPS:-Always check your UTAU's voice. Remember UTAU is a program and programs do not always work correctly.-Be creative with your UTAU's design. Your making a new member of the Vocoloid type programs family! They need to stand out above the rest. Not just be Kaito with pink hair.-Have fun! It can get frustrating trying to get the program to work but just keep thinking about that end result!~

Utau means Diva. And also there is a voice synsecier(forgot spelling) named UTAU. But the voice synsecier is free unlike Vocaloid. ~ Utau means sing. And yes, there is a program called UTAU. It's kind of like Vocaloid, but yes, it's free. It's also very confusing to use and I have yet to find a just English version. All the ones I've seen require a lot of confusing work. But hey, I don't think you're even asking about UTAU, so yeah.
Utauloid or more known as UTAU is a is a Japanese singing synthesizer application created by Ameya/Ayame. This program is similar to the Vocaloid software, with the difference that it is freeware instead of being released under third party licensing. You can download UTAU application from it's main website. It was created by re-editing an existing singing voice, extracting tones as WAV files and reassembling them. UTAU has the ability to create a unique voice, so that one can be synthesized by introducing song lyrics and melody. As a default, UTAU features the computer synthesized voice Utane Uta (commonly known as Defoko), pre-loaded. Voices synthesized in the UTAU program are officially called "UTAU" as well but often colloquially known as "UTAUloids"
Utau is 14 years old! ;P
"Utau's Wavering Heart" - Utau storms out of a recording session for her new song because the director tells her to sing in some other way but she refuses, and goes to eat ramen with Kukai to cool her head. But when even her favorite ramen shop changes their recipe in response to customer feedback, Utau get mad and Kukai tells her at times like this she should go talk to her 'female friend' and that 'female friend is none other than Amu. Amu is shocked when Utau appears at her house, but Amu's family is very happy to see Utau. The two of them go out to talk. Then, an X Egg, which kept saying 'I don't wanna,' appears. Utau get annoyed and says to it "Why dont you try the thing you don't want to; maybe it turn out to be more greater than you ever thought." Amu says that Utau's right. Just then, Utau realizes that her behaviour in the studio was wrong. Amu purifies the X Egg and Utau says 'Thank You' to Amu, though she didn't know what Utau meant. Utau goes back to the studio and apologizes to the director and records the new song.
