Colleges take the highest reading score, the highest math score and the highest writing score out of all the tests you've taken. So if there was a really bad essay topic, you can take it again and they will take the higher of the scores.
The highest possible essay score is 800. The highest possible composite score for the three sections (math, reading and writing) is 2,400.
The maximum SAT score is 2400 (800 for each of the 3 sections). The average score for the SAT is about 1500, so in this case, an SAT score of 1540 is about around the 50th percentile - that is, about 50% of the scores were higher, and about 50% of the scores were lower.
Perfect score, many people have achieevd it before.
2400
you can take the SAT's as many times you want, they will only keep your highest score you've ever achieved
2400; or 800 in each category.
Assuming you took it back in 1982, you could try to contact the people at CollegeBoard to see if they have it on record. Or you might just have to remember. The highest score you could have gotten would be a 1600, 800 for Reading and 800 for Math (there was no writing part back then).
from what i researched its around 1,100 but this might have been when the highest sat score you could get was 1,600
