When was modern Spanish created?

The modern form of the standard Spanish language (Castilian). Was not in use until the 16th Century. In it's earliest documented form, up until the 15th century it was customarily called 'Old Spanish.'

There wasn't a particular year. Like most, if not all, languages, it evolved over centuries - a mix of Iberian, Latin, Moorish, etc., slowly becoming recognisable as what it is at present.
