These high schools are the Bronx High School of Science and the High School for American Studies at Lehman College. Assuming you meant the Bronx, New York, then: all New York City public schools are open tomorrow, February 11, 2010. And it is always done that way: either all the public schools in all the five boroughs are open, or they're all closed. They're never say, open in Manhattan, but closed in the Bronx. It's all or nothing. I got this information from my mom, who is a high school teacher in the Bronx.
The Bronx High School of Science was created in 1938.

There are a few good high schools in New York that are located near Manhattan. Some of the big schools in that area are Baruch College Campus High School, The Browning High School and Cascades High School.
Such things cannot be compared categorically. It all depends on what your own personal experiences are and what schools you go to for each level. There are good and bad junior high schools and good and bad high schools.
