Robert Kimmel Smith attended Brooklyn College from 1947 to 1948. He later took writing courses at Brooklyn College Adult Ed and The New School. He worked as a copwriter at Doyle.Dane,Bernbach advertising. Grey Advertising, and West,Weir&Bartel. He began writing books in 1970 and continued through 1991. He has written 5 adult novels, 6 childrens chapter books, the Play, A iLittle Singing, A Little Dancing which was presented at the Eugene O'Neil National Payrights Conference in 1971. He wrote many tv scripts for CBS during the 1970's. His best=known works are CHOCOLATE FEVER and THE WAR WITH GRANDPA, both childrens chapter books which have won many awards.
