The majority of enslaved people in the transatlantic slave trade were taken from West and Central Africa. They were forcibly transported across the Atlantic Ocean to various destinations in the Americas, including the Caribbean, the United States, and South America. This brutal journey, known as the Middle Passage, subjected them to inhumane conditions as they were sold into slavery to work on plantations and in mines.

I am guessing you have to present this to the class. Here is what you do. Get three big pieces of poster board ( you can get this from an crafts store). Go online and find pictures of the middle passage. There is one you can find that shows how the slaves were packed into the ship. Find a picture of a slave and then one of a plantation. One your first poster put the picture of the slave, one the second put the ship picture, and the third is for the plantation. Then write a paragraph for each poster explaining what they mean. As you give your presentation use your posters going 1, 2, 3 explaining the middle passage and its meaning. Your teacher is looking for your understanding of this ( I know I did the same thing with my students) and she/he wants it in your own words. There is also a book called To Be a Slave that gives the words of former slaves. If you can't write me on here and I can give you some quotes that will help you since I own the book. Your school library should have a copy of the book.
