They must have completed a medical degree such as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS, MBChB). It is certainly possible for a psychiatrist to have a medical degree and a Ph.D. as well, but I would say most probably just have a medical degree.
