The Bible says that Jesus ascended into heaven and _will_ return, not that he has returned. Others in the Bible who were taken directly into heaven: Elijah (in a chariot of fire), and apparently Enoch (God took him, seemingly without him dying first). Also, Mohammad is said to have ascended into heaven. There is a lot more to read on the topic. Of course, if you meant "heaven" in a less traditional way, then every astronaut who survived a trip into orbit and back could be said to have "ascended to heaven and then returned to earth."
The good life is one lived in preparation for Heaven. He pointed this out when He said store not treasure for thyself on earth we it could be swollen or destroyed but store treasure in heaven.
'Hero' is not exactly the right word. But He said the the least here on earth will be the most in heaven meaning that the most humble will rein in heaven while the most exalted of men will be the least.
