There can only be 3 active quarterbacks on an NFL team for each game!!! However the third quaterbacl - cannot play unless the other two are injured during the game. USUALLY - a team will have 2 active quarterbacks for every game - but if either are hurting - they will have a third quarterback - brought up from the practice squad. If they need more - their problem IS NOT the quarterback - it is the offensive line.
