The novel Bravo Two Zero is written by a member of the British Special Forces under the pseudonym Andy McNab and is based on his account of a covert mission undertaken by his unit in Iraq in 1991. The book has been roundly criticized as a work of fiction, particularly in its descriptions of certain events and atrocities supposedly committed by the members of Bravo Two Zero, as well as a breach of ethics for using the real names of members of the unit while writing under a pseudonym himself. An investigative book by Michael Asher relates the differences between McNab's telling and the recollections of other members of the team in "The Real Story of Bravo Two Zero".
