There are lots of good "fun fact" books and websites out there! The best way to learn facts is for you to be interested in them. The more interested you are, the more motivated you will be to learn. Try making a game with your study-buddies to see who can learn the most fun facts, and have a quiz or "game show" to compete!
It is fairly easy to learn Spanish using the Rosetta Stone program. You will hear the correct accent being used which helps a lot. You need to be self-motivated though because the course is for home use and you will only learn if you put the time into the program.
