Men contain an x chromosome as well. By stem cells an egg cell can be created from a male then fertilized by another man's sperm, implanted in a woman and carried to term.
Scientists believe that it would be possible to transfer the genetic material from a sperm cell into an enucleated human egg, and then to fertilize that egg with another sperm cell. There are some technical problems that would have to be overcome, but they may not be insurmountable. One problem would be to insure that if there is a 'male' sperm, carrying the Y chromosome of the XY pair, then the other sperm MUST carry the X chromosome to avoid the possibility of YY offspring. A woman would then receive the fertilized egg and, theoretically, carry it to term.

In a bee hive, for example, there are worker bees, laying worker bees, drone bees, and the queen bee - all of which have specialized functions. Not only are the different bees physically different from each other, they behave differently. These different physical and behavioral characteristics enable the bees to carry out their respective functions effectively.

Our ancestors had specific needs that were satisfied through specialization within our species. Men were responsible for hunting food and for the overall security of the community. Women were responsible for gathering food and bearing and raising young. Food, security, and raising children are all necessities to the local community, and by dividing these tasks, evolution enabled our ancestors to adapt to threats as they emerged.

There were (and still are) distinct physical and behavioral differences between men and women that allowed them to carry out their specialized tasks long ago. Men had to be strong and quick. They had to be aggressive and fierce against prey and predators. Women had to be caring and supportive of their young. Our ancestors survived by having such specializations, because being strong, fierce, caring, and supportive was generally too difficult for a single individual.

While modern society does not require local families/communities to have their own hunters and gatherers, we are still left with the biological specializations that allowed our ancestors to succeed. That is why only women bear children.
