People need to pay attention in school because if they don't, they won't won't learn what is being taught. Okay, so some might ask, "Who cares anyway?" To that, the reply is that while you're in school, you might not care, but as you age you might look back and regret that you did not seize the opportunity to learn all you could. It's possible that you won't have any regrets if you don't pay attention and learn all you can, but as an older person who is now looking back, my thought is "Why take the chance when you're in school anyway?"
