Clothes are carriers of bacteria from people who were sick. Clothes, especially underclothes, have direct contact with skin and so can easily spread germs to healthy people. It should be okay to wear clothes worn by someone who was recently sick if they are washed properly, but sharing clothes is unadvisable with someone who is sick in the school gym, swim meet, etc.
