Rollins College was the first to issue Bachelor Degrees (4 year Degrees) in the State of Florida, starting with the class of 1889 in 1885. What is today Florida State University traces its founding back before 1885 but alas was a 2 year Associates Degree women's college until the 1940s, there are a few other Florida Universities today that can trace their organizations founding before 1885, but none granted Bachelor degrees prior to 1885-1889.
