This is a mixture of a sort of unpopular myth and some outdated concepts. For some odd reason, perhaps to prop up their own single-sex gender structures- the Church schools were the most ardent foes of co-education in modern times. they managed to keep this stuff out of the media- the subject of such things as co-institutional schools which were essentially two separate facilitiies on a common building foundation with a large bulkhead wall going right down the center- are hard to describe as anything (American) there were some residuals of Gender Apartheid in some Public High schools as late as the thirties and some even retained separate vice-principals for Boys and Girls. One can understand separate gyms and locker facilities- but...There were architectural traces of this practice in number of establishments in Brooklyn for some off reasons. What for? outside of such practical considerations which can be remedied with lockers, toilets, change-room for Gym and swim- it is difficult to see any advantages in Gender Apartheid and many disadvantages. if the system was really enforced- and the Church schools even managed this in individual classrooms which were technically co-ed but ( Divided down the center) it just doesn"t make sense. this is not imitative of life in America. One could not imagine this in a a Public Library, bookstore, waiting room at a railroad station or Bus Terminal or suchlike. It was one of those arbitrary traditions, that analyzed plainly, does not make sense- though one might see some limited applications, obviously in sportive and gym classes, the YMCA Scouts, etc. and oddly it was SOP in most Sunday schools. the media- Movies, TV, comic books and strips, totally ignored the practice of Gender Apartheid outside of obvious things like camps. it is bizarre indeed. the Churchman also railed against what they believed was a major social problem (?) Divorce, and went out of their way to castigate divorcees and indeed, children from what they derisively called Broken Homes-= This amounted to a Prejudice factory in the church or Sunday school./

Coeducation is important because it promotes gender equality, fosters mutual respect between genders, and prepares students for real-world interactions in a diverse society. It also helps break down stereotypes and encourages collaboration and understanding between boys and girls from a young age.
Similar to Christianity, a strict interpretation of Islamic holy texts does not support coeducation. Not all of the Islamic faith support a strict interpretation of Islamic text however. It is best to approach this question on a case to case basis. A conservative member of the Islamic faith will most likely oppose coeducation while others might not.
Coeducation promotes gender equality by providing both men and women with equal access to educational opportunities, enabling them to interact and learn from each other's perspectives. It helps break down gender stereotypes and fosters mutual respect between genders, preparing students for the diverse and inclusive society they will encounter in the future. Additionally, coeducation can promote healthy competition, enhance social skills, and prepare students for the collaborative work environments they will face in their careers.
