Education is vital for today's standard of living because much of our current technology and medical care depends upon highly trained, specialized individuals. The average person cannot come in from the street and service a satellite for NANA or treat aggressive cancer--these things can only be done with high degrees of education, and advancements in the standard of living will take equal, or higher, education to achieve.
