Why is science important in middle school?

Science is always important because it gives us a greater understanding of us, our world, and the universe. Without science we wouldn't have the medical advances we have, or the technology. It's important in middle school because that is when the classes tend to go deeper into the details, so greater understanding is gained, plus it helps students discover any hidden interests in the different sciences so they can decide what classes to take in high school.

We need to have people who are educated in science and who understand how/why things evolved or how they work. Otherwise, they will seek out uninformed answers, make up myths, and make up answers to the questions they have. We need future doctors, inventors, and people to solve problems. Without science we will revert to the dark ages where they thought islands were giant magnets sinking ships, where the earth is the center of the universe, where the night air was dangerous and if a person was hurt they would die for the lack of understanding medical treatment.
