*** cool fact*** If an infant is choking, and you perform a finger sweep (because you can see whatever it is that is blocking their airway) if your finger, gloved or not, even barely scratches the back of their throat, their laryngeal airway with spasm and close. It's something they have no control over and will kill them. So note! When performing a finger sweep, be extremely careful, and never sweep for something you cannot see the majority of. Ideally, I recommend you not performing finger sweeps period, and simply place them belly down, perform back thrusts to help expel the object.
