I'm not even sure they should. I guess that depends on the teacher. In my opinion they should have, but only minor tasks that could be done applying the already known (for example read and write an essay about a book). After all they are on holidays, they deserve the break, but they shouldn't entirely forget all about school since it only makes it harder to come back and get to the same pace.
