Keep in mind that you can die in the military very easily so take into account that they are giving you money to risk your life. It is okay to join so you can pay for college but you should honestly join if you really are dedicated to serving your country. You will also be able to earn much more money through OCS and you can be a higher rank. Enlisted soldiers can only go up to E-10 or Sergeant of the Army(or any other branch's corresponding rank). They will make a good amount compared to normal Enlisted soldiers. However they are often very expierenced and old. Officers make a massively larger amount and start as 2nd Lieutenants.
