It depends on which gap theory you are talking about, I will tell what the gap theories there are:The Bad gap theory: The bad gap theory is the Evolution gap theory, this is where theologians take millions of years and fit them between Geneses 1:1 (In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.) and Geneses 1:2 (The earth was formless and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters.)In these millions of years it is supposed to be with all the dinosaurs. The Good gap theory:the good gap theory is the real gap theory, what some believe is that between Geneses 1:1 and 1:2 is when Satan was cast out of heaven. In 1:1 God created the heavens and the earth, God created the heavens in which there are three heavens the Atmospheric heavens the universe ans heaven, but God created only the first two heavens that is mentioned in 1. God created the earth for Satan, God created it with all sorts of jewels precious stones, but when Satan rebelled against God, he was cast out of heaven. If you want to learn more about what I wrote go to Ariel.org and go to the come and see.
To create a theory/law: 1. Start with an idea 2. Do some experiments 3. Do the experiments is support the idea? No? Bad idea 4. Yes, then theory is created 5. Get more information to better understand 6. Discover even more information 7. Modify theory 8. Does modification explain the idea? No? End of theory. 9. Yes? Explain the new evidence? 10. Improve the theory 11. Law. See link below:
An idea is simply a notion, a thought, an explanation that pops into the head. Ideas can be good or bad. In the realm of science, an idea (hopefully good and hopefully logical) is called an hypothesis. Hypotheses are possible explanations for phenomena that need to be tested with experiments (or the gathering of more evidence and data) and need to be 'fitted' with the rest of science fact and theory to see if such a new entry into science makes science a more coherent whole. A hypothesis that is not contradicted by evidence, meets the predictions of an experiment and is useful as a predictor and explainer is promoted to a theory. Darwin's idea of evolution has become a theory by the gathering of fossils and the comparing of anatomy and genomes of many species. Darwin was probably one of the few capable of single-handedly promoting an idea to a theory, given the mountains of evidence he collected. Copernicus' idea of heliocentrism has been confirmed and is now the theory of the structure of the solar system. Rutherford's idea of the structure of atoms has been confirmed and is certainly a theory now - certainly modern atomic sciences would not have advanced this far without it. The Watson-Crick idea of the structure of DNA is a theory these days and was made so by the very experiments of Watson and Crick and Franklin.
emphasizes role of inept parenting in early onset of delinquency. Coercive cycle of behaviors created within families. Coercive strategies generalized to other settings. Parents make child coercive. Two trajectories: early onset and adult crime or late onset and desistence from adult crime. Three distinguishing variables: onset (age: when it's early it's more permanent), inept parenting (how bad is the parenting) and social incompetence (level of it, rejected by peers) First relationship most important. Learn bad patterns (threaten, bully, rage people).

Bad points.
The Phlogiston theory was unable to explain certain chemical reactions, such as the combination of metals with oxygen. It also lacked experimental support and was eventually replaced by the more accurate oxygen theory of combustion. Additionally, the concept of phlogiston was found to be vague and arbitrary.
