What is a year round school schedule?

Breaks typically occur at different times, however they may coincide with Labor Day and Memorial Day in the US. With that in mind, the most typical schedule of year round schooling will be set in a trimester arrangement (three grade periods per school year). Each trimester will be three months long, with a one month break in between. This is sometimes offset by Thanksgiving break and Christmas/New Year break. There may be additional offset for other national holidays such as Independence Day. Credit requirements may be 32 to 36 credits by graduation. Fewer classes are required per trimester, however more classes will be taken, and class times may be longer.
