What is the meaning of hyp0thesis?

A hypothesis is a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence for the sake of further investigation. It is a starting point for scientific inquiry and research to test and explore potential explanations or predictions.

Does suppositions mean guesses?

Kinda. The difference is that a supposition has some facts to go on, a guess is pure random. A supposition is kinda like playing pretend, more than guessing. For instance, "suppose" that you are a frog. What would you do? See, we have some ideas about what frogs do, so we have some facts to go on. A guess is just random like "what is life like on the Moon?" We don't have any facts, so the story would be a guess.

How does an operational definition differ from conceptual definition?

An operational definition specifies the procedures or operations used to measure or observe a concept, making it measurable and testable. A conceptual definition, on the other hand, explains the general meaning or idea behind a concept without providing specific measurement criteria.

What can be stated about a theory?

A theory is a well-substantiated explanation that can be used to make predictions or provide insight into a phenomenon. It is based on observations, experimentation, and evidence, and serves as a framework for understanding a certain aspect of the natural world. The strength of a theory lies in its ability to be tested and potentially disproven through further research and observations.

What type of definition points to names or identifies one or more instances of something to which the defined term applies?

An intensional definition points to names or identifies one or more instances of something to which the defined term applies. It focuses on the characteristics or properties that define the term rather than listing specific examples.
