Surplus electric motors do usually work very well. I am thinking that you could have accidentally broken it when you bought it. I would bring it back to the store just in case!
Very good condition
Copper is very good conductor of electric charge. That is why it is invariably used in the electric motors.

Normally yes, but not all the time. You have to be very lucky to not have them bend though.
There are electric motors and gasoline engines. Motors are significantly cheaper than engines and are less complex, but require electric power. It's difficult to give a clear price difference since you're comparing very different things. It will depend on size and application - the motor cost may be cheaper than the engine, but the extra things you need to use the motor may cause the engine to ultimately be cheaper.
Electric motors are more efficient than combustion engines because they can convert a higher percentage of energy from the electricity they receive into mechanical energy for propulsion. Combustion engines waste energy in the form of heat, while electric motors have fewer moving parts and do not rely on combustion processes, resulting in higher efficiency. Additionally, electric motors can generate torque instantly, providing better acceleration and performance.
There are two major types of modern locomotives. Electric, and Diesel-Electric. Electric locomotives are very popular in some countries, and likewise for diesel-electric. Electric locomotives take in electricity via an overhead wire or a third rail that carries this electricity which is then in turn used to power electrical motors on the axles of the locomotive to move the train. Diesel-electric is identical, but electricity is not directly supplied. The locomotive is fueled with diesel which powers a large diesel engine that drives a generator that in turn drives electric motors on the axles of the locomotive. Think of it as a hybrid. An on-board generator that powers on-board electric motors.
A Hybrid car uses both electric motors and a gasoline engine. Some Hybrids use a very small gasoline engine to assist in charging the batteries that drive the electric motors. These cars often use breaking to charge the batteries as well
Very little. Most electric fan motors of household size use just a trickle of current.
The Emerson electric motor is a very powerful motor, and is the best for personal use. The best thing to use a ACDELCO motor.
The lay term for this is called a "brown out" If you find yourself in this situation turn off all electric motor powered appliances. Furnace, AC, Fridge, Deep freeze, ETC This is very hard on electric motors
Motor protection circuit breakers(MPCB) are a specialized type of electrical protection device that is designed specifically for electric motors, like their name implies. Electric motors have plenty of applications and are used to drive mechanical devices of all types, so it is very important to protect them adequately with MPCBs.
