Take the door panel off and lift up on the glass until the handle engages or possibly slip a piece of tape down beside the glass and stick it to it and use that to pull the glass up. It could also be the crank handle stripped out and turning on the shaft. If that's the case, just replace the handle.
The purpose of the window crank handle in a car is to manually roll up or down the window.
Manual cars can be started with a bad starter due to the ability to roll start the car. Automatic transmission cars are not so lucky. To roll start a manual car all you need to do is put the car in gear with the key in the "on" position, push in the clutch, get the car to roll, then quickly release the clutch. The transmission will slam into the engine and force it to turn. Don't forget to push the clutch back in once it starts or the car will stall.
To operate a window crank in a car, turn the handle clockwise to roll the window up and counterclockwise to roll it down. Make sure to hold the handle firmly while turning to avoid slipping.
If it's parked on a flat it should not roll at all
Yes some random car manual
Hey Steve= the most common problem is for a roller in the linkage to break. It is a big job and someone who knowa how, to repair it. Call your local auto trim shop. GoodluckJoe I had a rear window that did this. I removed the window motor. Now it's a manual window; I have to use my hands to pull it down and lift it up. I don't have to worry about locking my keys in my car although it will set off the car alarm if you roll it down with the car locked; you have to put your key in the ignition to stop the alarm. Of well.
The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You may want to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
Your problem isn't specific. Here is a list of causes. please refer this to identify the problem - http://carcarehow.blogspot.com/2011/10/window-does-not-roll-up.html
Only if you push it. On a perfectly flat surface, in neutral it will not roll without assistance.
either the e-brake did not release or it is still in gear
with the rest of the car
Have the charging system tested. You may have a faulty alternator.
