depends on the car, ironically the so called ECO cars that run on electric motors create some of the highest CO2 per car built as the process of getting the batteries is extremly polluting and they are shipped all around the globe several times in different directions until they are actually built and sold.

A LOT less than a Hummer! Over the life of 200K miles, if the same numbers are used, the Prius will create about 38 tons of C02 About 1/2 as much as a regular internal combustion engine car. A Hummer on the other hand, will create 190 tons of C02. 152 tons more than a Prius. See the analysis here: http://rodgerswriting.blogspot.com/2012/06/hummer-versus-prius.html

If you take in the factor of the manufacturing process to build the assembled components, then a solely electric car gives off a percentage of metric tons of CO2. If you are basing solely on the car, then no, a true electric car gives off only the CO2 of the driver. A hybrid (gas/electric) car gives off a nominal amount of CO2 and CO due to the gas engine. Different cars, different amounts.
