Acceleration is negative.
If you have a negative acceleration, you are slowing down. Acceleration is the rate of change of speed, so a negative acceleration means a decrease in speed.
Speed increase constantly.
If an object travels with constant acceleration, its speed will change at a constant rate over time. The object's speed will increase if the acceleration is positive, decrease if it is negative, and remain constant if the acceleration is zero.

All three of Newton's laws are acting in this situation. The third law states that if body A exerts a force on body B, body B will exert an equal but opposite force on body A. This law explains why the car does not fall through the road surface, why the driver can sit in the car and why the accelerator can be pushed.
The speed may, or may not, change. Acceleration means that the velocity changes; this means that either the speed changes, or the direction.
A simple example of acceleration is a car speeding up from a stationary position at a traffic light. As the driver presses the gas pedal, the car's speed increases, showing acceleration.

If an object travels with zero acceleration, its speed remains constant. This means that the object maintains the same speed throughout its motion and does not change its velocity.
